April X: Connecting the Land Bridge to MnDOT's ReThink I-94

At a healing ceremony in the summer of 2015, the MnDOT commissioner formally apologized to the Rondo community for past transportation policies and practices that dismantled the neighborhood. Thereafter, MnDOT formed Rethinking I-94, promising better transportation planning as it develops a new vision for I-94 between Minneapolis and St. Paul. Hear how RCR is looking to leverage the opportunity in support of community benefits.

"At Rondo, the Intergenerational Wealth Gap that was caused by I-94 and poor land use and planning resulted in a loss of at least $90 million by 2018 ... In the 1980s, when many of the original Rondo owners passed their houses on to their children, the equity that would have been passed had these houses not been razed ($20M) would have gotten full degrees for 2,800 kids at the University of Minnesota"
